I’m starting to ponder, with how menacing yet nice Missy is, I wonder how did she end up being the top dog of the Dream Soldiers. I wonder if she was born into the role or she earned it.

So, answer me this, What do you think of Missy as a character?

She’s nice I guess

She’s a mother bear protecting her cub, even from papa bear.

Ooh, Missy setting the line plain and simple. She has been separated from her cub for far too long and now that Pituka’s back, nothing is going to tear them apart again, not even if that person is Papa himself!
She is kind, but strict. She is a tad bit overprotective as well, but not nearly as much as Francis. Understandably since she hasn’t seen her in personal manner since Pituka was a child. A teacher was definitely the ideal role for her.
Also, yeah no, Missy definitely strikes me as the type who worked her tail off to attain the rank of Matriarch. Definitely no Nepotism (familial favor)

Yeah, given how she started as Pitkua’s nanny, I suspect the very reason she worked her way to Matriarch was to protect Pituka from within.

I like Missy. She’s a bit of a conundrum. Nice, but definitely has a hard edge and not afraid to use it to protect those she cares for.

I suspect she earned her position the hard way. Given how she started as Pituka’s nanny, she probably decided soon after helping Pituka escapee that to protect her, she needed to rise to the top to control the system. Working hard to be the best in order to undermine the system.

The only criticism I really have is that she writes off the rest of her kind, when she was directly in charge of them, and deliberately undermining them.
She never tried to encourage others to turn. Never tried to turn their loyalty away from the queen.
I understand that It was all to protect Pituka, but she’s still very judgemental of the other Dream Soldiers for not questioning their loyalty. Especially when she likely stopped them from questioning HER orders and loyalty.

As a character? Besides the point of being someone still on that self discovery journey (though quite unaware of that bit), there is the significance of the writer still asking about her himself as this kinda offers said journey a real-world manifest. ← Missy might be a touch more real than her portrayal lets on.

She definetly earned it!
