Comic 909 – Image negotiation
Baker Notes
Hello my cookies!
A nasty trick to weaponize the image of someone for your own means. If you can’t look good in a situation, might as well make everyone else look BAD.
So, answer me this, Who do you like best of the Circle members we’ve seen so far?
Hmmm… Yeah, I’m sure he did have your utmost confidence… What’s your play? Make it look like Melliza, and by proxy the Circle, is a Racist Megitsune (Vixen for non-anime fans)? It might work, if he plays it to make it seem like they are keeping him out because of his Hybrid bloodline, instead of him overstepping, Melliza would definitely do what she can to save face, of that we know for certain…
We haven’t seen much of the Circle other than a handful pages, but I like the Furizon CEO Female. She was the first one to take interest an in Hos, and broke the Ice by speaking up and supporting him and got the others on his side.
It’ll definitely look like Melizza favours purebreds over strays, given how the new pound warden “just happens” to be the daughter of Olivia there. The ruling Queen’s preferences being made public could most definitely destabilise the peace and security of their community, which is already in a precarious position with Terra on the loose, and their spellmaster “missing”.
My God.😩😮💨
That was more complicated than I thought. Finding time to draw is really tough, surprisingly.😓
I know it’s not a good drawing, not even close to yours, as you can tell by the lack of yellow for the eyes and the hook.
But I’ve always drawn for fun, so I think this ‘art’ is cool.
I based it on Astrid’s first appearance.
Back in Comic 145 (wow, that was a while ago…).🥲
And I tried to draw her in the current styles, with more details (even though I can’t really draw hands properly).😵
Would it be possible for you, Mr. Baker, to draw Astrid in her first outfit? That would be so cool.😍😍😍
Thanks for the comic!!
I posted it there on Pinterest first.
Under the name Lucas Rafael
Don’t beat yourself up! Everyone has to start somewhere, I’m sure the Baker started out similarly, but look far he has come! It looks good to me and I’m sure with practice, it will only become more amazing! Just remember to have fun with it! And who knows? Maybe you will have your own comic one day!
Everyone starts out small. Some of the best comics I’ve seen started out as simple pencil illustrations, including this one!
